COUNTRY
Country blues essentially consists of the root years of blues from 1900s-1930s, as well as those who have maintained the traditional form of playing ever since. Based on non-electric instruments, for the main part the acoustic guitar. Country blues encompasses various playing styles from complex counter-rhythmic finger picking from the South-East of the US (commonly referred to as Piedmont) to the laid back front porch rambling of Louisiana. All country blues originated from around the Mississippi delta. As musicians travelled, exchanged ideas, and developed their own styles, so the number of variants in style grew.
