JOHNNY WINTER - SECOND WINTER

Wow. Wow. Wow. This guy is incredible, like an albino Jimi Hendrix, although he is no copyist, this guy is the real deal. The limited edition legacy edition has two CD's. The original LP (digitally remastered of course) and a live recording from the Albert Hall in 1970 that has previously been unreleased, although god only knows why not. The live CD is the real highlight and shows just how much stunning talent this guy had, it beats the cr@p out of any recorded live Hendrix performance for skill, a superbly powerful example of how a trio can offer so much more than bigger bands when they play well together. Johnny Winter is not only fast and full of feeling, he plays for the love of the audience and not with comptempt for them, he knows what the people have come to hear and he gives them even more. With a whistful floating quality to his voice this is transcendental blues if ever there was.
